Every family has a story that becomes part of its heartbeat. For us, that story begins with a black-and-white border collie with one bright blue eye and one warm brown eye. His name is Lucky Bob, and he’s the reason a simple idea—born in the middle of everyday life—grew into a children’s book, a brand, and a community of families who love good stories.
For years, the thought of writing a children’s book lingered in the back of my mind. Life was busy, and dreaming was easier than doing. Then one day, my son made an offhand comment that changed everything: “We should write a story about Bob.” That moment nudged a long-held dream into motion. What started as a mother-and-son idea became a fully illustrated story about adventure, belonging, and the lovable dog who always finds his way into the middle of everything.
Lucky Bob isn’t just a character on the page—he’s based on our real Bob, the loyal farm dog who sees the world with curiosity and heart. His mismatched eyes, playful spirit, and knack for finding trouble (and joy) made him the perfect hero for a story that celebrates home, family, and the small moments that shape childhood.
As the book took shape, so did something bigger. Parents began sharing how their kids connected with Bob. Teachers reached out. Families told us about their own pets who reminded them of him. Before long, Lucky Bob felt less like a book and more like a shared experience—one built on the simple charm of a story well told.
Today, Lucky Bob has become part of the Willow + Pine family. His book sits alongside our growing collection of creative work, from photography to graphic tees, each shaped by a love of storytelling and a deep appreciation for the people and places that make Tennessee home.
Whether you’re discovering Bob for the first time or already know him well, we’re glad you’re here. There’s more ahead—new adventures, new stories, and new ways to bring the world of Lucky Bob to life. We hope this community is a place where families, readers, and dreamers feel welcome.
Thanks for being part of the journey. Bob’s just getting started.
